My Self

My Self is a short poetic comic about the experience of feeling estranged from one's own identity. Through a sequence of contemplative interior scenes, the work pairs written reflection with aspect-to-aspect visual storytelling, focusing on mood and perception rather than plot. The imagery was constructed from photographs of an apartment that were digitally transformed through thresholding, overpainting, and texture work in Clip Studio Paint, creating a high-contrast visual language that blurs the line between photography and drawing. The comic was developed as an aesthetic and thematic proof of concept for the larger graphic novel project.
